DESCRIPTION
The Outdoor MotionViewer® Model DCV is a wireless, battery operated, outdoor motion activated camera designed for use is RSI Video Technologies security systems. Motion-activated cameras are intended for applications where video verification of intrusion alarms is necessary or desired.
The Outdoor MotionViewer, a battery-powered PIR motion sensor with an integrated digital video camera and infrared illuminators, is designed to detect an intrusion, instantaneously record a 10 second video and send the video alarm signal to our control panel via RF for cellular relay to the central station where immediate review/verification can initiate a priority response and dispatch.
Can be installed with the Mounting Arm Kit.

Camera- CMOS black and white sensor with 85° wide angle lens
and video resolution of 320 x 240 pixels.
Supervised—transmits a check-in/status signal to the panel every
8 minutes indicating tamper state and battery status.
Tamper- Provides cover-open tamper detection.
Lithium batteries- last at upto four years (estimated)
Night illumination- up to 30 feet/6 meters distance using two
infrared LEDs
Motion detector- Dual-element, passive infrared with Fresnel lens
up to 40 ft./ 12m wide 85 degree coverage.
Camera begins filming in fewer than 100 milliseconds after the PIR
detects motion.
Camera is fully weatherproof and can withstand temperatures
from -20° to 140° F (-30° -+65° C).
GENERAL TIP
CODE3SECURITY is an intrusion-based video alarm system and should be used in places and during times where and when no person should be while the system is armed.
INSTALLATION PRINCIPLES
- Protect assets, not the area: Outdoor MotionViewers are not intended to monitor large areas as in video surveillance cameras but instead should be focused on specific assets and at key entrance points where intruders might show up.
- Look outside-in, not inside-out: Outdoor MotionViewers should be installed to look inwards from a fenced perimeter (for example) so that it trips when someone breaks through the fence. Pointing the Outdoor MotionViewer outward from the fence means that non-intruding passers-by will trip the MotionViewer, sending unnecessary videos to the central monitoring station.
- Terminate the view of the PIR: The detection distance of the PIR motion sensor is longer than the illumination range of the infrared illuminators. Terminating the view of the MotionViewer at 30ft will avoid the problem of detecting things, animals, or persons too far for the illuminators to reach during nighttime.
